When in Turin...

I recently returned from a two and a half week visit to Switzerland.

While there I spent a couple of days in Italy, in the northern part near the Alps.  Turin (or Torino) is at the base of the Alps as you can see from the photo.  A history rich city dating back to the ancient times of 200 B.C.  It is famous for the "Shroud of Turin".  Known for its baroque, rococo, neo-classical, and Art Nouveau architecture, Turin was one of the first cities in Italy to embrace a cafe society and has some of the best cafes in Italy.

The focus of my visit to Turin was the Egyptian Museum, the second largest in the world after the one in Cairo.  The artifacts there are so incredibly preserved and the way they were displayed was primo...!  From objects used in their every day lives to objects of grandeur and magnificent entombment's for the Royals' journey to the afterlife.   Here are some photos that I took which should give you a good idea of the quality of the museum.  If you ever visit Turin, be sure and see the exhibit...you will not be disappointed...!
